Our GDPR Statement

Our GDPR Statement

At Construction-Websites.co.uk, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all visitors to our website. We want to assure our clients that we do not sell, rent, or trade email lists with any third-party businesses for marketing purposes. If you'd like more details about how we handle your personal information, please read on below.

Website Cookies

When you visit our website, we use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour patterns. This helps us understand how visitors interact with the site - such as traffic volumes, popular pages, and geographic trends. The data is reviewed by our internal web team to assess performance and visitor engagement. We do not advertise, share, or disclose this information with any parties outside Construction-Websites.co.uk.

All data is processed in a way that does not reveal personal identities, including IP anonymisation features within Google Analytics. For more information, you can view Google’s GDPR policy here.

We do not use advertising cookies or run banner ads on our website.

Cookies are also utilised by our website security plugin (iThemes Security), which collects IP addresses to protect our website from unauthorised access. It uses IP blacklists and whitelists to maintain site integrity.

If you prefer not to use cookies, you may disable them via your browser settings, or click 'no' on the cookies notice displayed at the footer of the site. Doing will not affect the functionality of the Construction-Websites.com site.

Mailing Lists

Construction-Websites.co.uk maintains one mailing list, specifically for clients who host a website with us. This list is used to share important service updates. As of 25 May 2018, we no longer send emails to clients who opt out of receiving them. All our emails include a straightforward opt-out process.

Please note that transactional messages such as hosting renewal reminders and payment notifications are exempt from this policy, as consent is not required to send these types of payment reminders.

Contact Enquiry Form

Our contact form is designed to help you request quotes or estimates. The information you provide is only used for that purpose and is processed solely by the Construction-Websites.com team. We do not store your information in a database or request more personal details than necessary for the estimate.

We never send unsolicited emails and will only contact you in connection with the services you’ve requested or are subscribed to. Your messages are backed up only on secure local drives and are accessible exclusively to Construction-Websites.co.uk staff.

We will never share your email or contact details with any third parties unless we have your explicit permission - for example, when forwarding a message at your request.

Web Design & Hosting

Construction-Websites.co.uk offers web design and hosting services. If you purchase a content management system (CMS) tutorial, your login credentials will be emailed to you directly. We do not store these credentials, although we can reset them upon request.

Access to hosting accounts is restricted to our in-house team and only used to fulfil service requests. We do not share access credentials or client data with any third parties.

We also register domain names on behalf of clients. While WHOIS directories may display registrant information, most of our domains are registered under the SimplyGraphics company details (the name we are trading under), which enhances client privacy. If preferred, clients can request the domain registration be updated with their own contact information. Domains can also be transferred to another provider after one year - clients simply need to email us at hello@construction-websites.co.uk to start the process, and transferring domains (by way of unlocking them and releasing) is charged at £99 + VAT. For security, we recommend introducing us directly to your new developer to confirm authorisation. We are unable to assist clients with transferring their website/emails to another service provider, and we encourage our clients to directly contact their new server team to help with this on the new system you will be moving to.

Invoice System

We store names, business addresses, phone numbers, and emails on our invoicing system for accounting and tax compliance purposes. This data is not shared with other businesses and is used exclusively for transactional and legal purposes. Under GDPR, we are allowed to send necessary billing communications without needing prior consent. We use QuickBooks for invoicing, which is GDPR-compliant - you can view their GDPR compliance statement here.

Your Right to Be Forgotten

Under the GDPR, you have the legal right to request that your personal data be removed from our systems. If you'd like your information erased, just send a request to hello@construction-websites.co.uk. We'll confirm the request via an automated email and then provide a full deletion report within one month.

You can find more information on the ICO's 'Right to Erasure' guidance by searching on Google.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at hello@construction-websites.co.uk.
